Garage Sales

I have taken on the task of cleaning out our storage unit. Which really means my living room now looks like the storage unit. I have boxes stacked all over that I need to go through. The kids freaked out because they thought we where moving again.
It is to difficult to plan a garage sale with Steve's schedule. So, we are just getting stuff ready and when he is off some time on the weekend we will throw the stuff on the lawn and put up some signs. That is the most organized we can be. The kids are excited because they are ready to sell of most of their rooms plus each other. I wonder if I could get a good price for them?

Nice Weekend

We had a really nice and mellow weekend. Steve was here Sunday so that is always nice to see him on the weekends. This nice calmness we are enjoying is really the calm before the storm. Baseball season will officially open in the next couple of weeks. The little league here opens the season with a parade and games all day Saturday. We are not sure what happens for Anthony. Megan as always, is looking forward to the snack bar being open again.
I have to laugh, that summer isn't even here yet, but we are already booking up with plans. I as usual said, "if you need help let me know." Well, both the church and the quilters guild has" let me know." lol
Keeping my fingers crossed that we will see sunshine today.
Have a good week.

My Helper

I spent most of my day working on my quilting. You can see my little helper. He sat there and watched me work, and almost burned his nose when he smelled the iron.

We are getting ready for the craziness of the last month of school to start. Jason will graduate from kindergarten next month. He is so excited about going to school with his sister next year.

My Hobbies

Just one hour with my quilting friends and I am off and ready to go. I have a little bit of catching up work to do. I have to make 2 blocks for the block of the month group, and another block for a round robin I am in. My creative juices are going because I just figured out a quilt I would like to make a friend of mine. Why am I here still typing, I need to get the sewing machine running. The picture is of a baby quilt I did for my friend who just had the cutest little girl.

COFFEE

The biggest thing to hit this town lately is "DUTCH BROTHERS COFFEE". I am a total coffee anarchist and will not be drug into this espresso driven world. But the other adult member in this family thinks otherwise. "So what" you ask. The big frenzy was that their menu was free last Friday and Saturday. Because of that we now know what Steve's legal caffeine limit is. Let me tell you, that it was not pretty around here come 8pm at night. We are not sure but we know that he made at least 3 trips there on Saturday.
We are still pretty new to this area and to the small town way of life. We learned very quickly the fierce loyalty people have for their coffee places. No one will admit to trying out Dutch Bros, but let me tell you, the lines where at least 25min long all day long. It is great to see people support their local businesses. Java Joe's is a small coffee place, owned by a local woman and very loyal customers. Every coffee place in town (and for small town we have a lot of them) was hurting Fri and Sat., but not Java Joe's. Her lines where still as long as normal.

The Count Down Begins

Eight more weeks until school is out and even less for the youngest. Today is the first day of the way things will go for me until school is out. Back to back activities and having to be in 3 places at one time. Baseball games start the first week of May, and I am not sure what that means for my oldest. This is his first year in Babe Ruth and we are not sure how much traveling this means for us. Jason has improved so much in his hitting and catching. Anthony really works with him. Meg is counting the days until school is out and soccer begins. All 3 kids have big plans this summer and I hope I can keep up.

What can I say. I told the kids to find something to do, and this is what they came up with.

Father Daughter

My hubby and Daughter went to the Father Daughter Dinner Dance. You can see it had a 50's theme. They had a great time and I am so glad they have a chance to do things like this. I thought I would be able to put together an outfit for her with stuff that I had around the house, but I was wrong. I ended getting the pattern for the skirt and making it in an hour. The boys and I ended up going to the movies and had a great time.

A Rant

Let me adjust my soap box so I can stand on it.
Yes, I too am going to complain about Rosie O'Donnell.
When it was the fight between her on Donald Trump I had to laugh a little bit. I do believe that she continued that fight for ratings. But I believe her comments on America have gone to far. I will not believe that a standing American President would ever stand aside and let 9/11 happen. I don't care if the president is a Democrat or a Republican. You might not like George Bush or agree with him, but that does not make him evil. I don't like Bill Clinton's politics but I do not believe the man is evil. Rosie (as do any other Hollywood types) have to right to stand up and say what they want, but I as a American have the right to turn off my TV, stop watching their movies and stop paying for the products that are paying their salaries. I am tired of having to listen to what evil Americans we are, but expected to still support these peoples careers. If I worked at Ford, then stood up and told everyone Ford is a crappy product buy Toyota's, you can bet I would lose my job.
OK, I feel better for speaking my mind and I am getting off my soap box.

SNOW???

Yes, it is snowing here. It is not staying around, but we did have some on our cars this morning. Anthony still insists on wearing shorts, but I guess he will learn. It is a perfect day to stay inside and be crafty, or take a nap. Not sure which one I am going to do. The nap does sound like a winner.

Spring time is officially here

Well, it's official, spring is here. We got the call yesterday that Anthony is on a Babe Ruth team and practice starts tonight. Jay's starts his t-ball practice tomorrow. There goes my free nights and weekends. Which is fine because I DO love to watch the kids play the game. Anthony is truly in his element. Baseball comes very easy to him.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

I have finally given in to a little pressure to start a blog. You asked for it here it goes. lol

We are having a fun but mellow Easter. We got up early and did our egg hunt and I started cooking the ham. Our plan was to cook dinner, pack it up and join Steve. He of course is working and out of town this holiday. Unfortunately he will be on a train by this afternoon and we couldn't make it there quick enough. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will make it here in time for dinner. I grew up with a firefighter for a Dad so our holidays where always flexible. I am glad that the kids are flexible as well. Plus they got their chocolate so life is good.
